|How to get there
|Distance from the center of Waikiki - 1.5 miles
Despite its proximity to Waikiki, Diamond Head Beach Park is one of the
longest and least-crowded beaches in the Waikiki area. The ride to the
Beach Park is uphill for the last quarter mile but you will be rewarded
with a great view of the ocean surf and the southeast coast of Oahu.
The trail to the beach is on your right, between the first and second
parking lots, but before you head down to the beach, ride a little further
to the second parking lot for a fantastic look-out overlooking the beach
and the area's famous surf breaks. This is also a great area for whale
watching during the months of November through April. Then head
back to the path down to the beach. Walk down the paved trail and find
your own quiet corner on the beach. There are drinking fountains at the
top of the trail and fresh water showers at the bottom.
